Z Hotels at Gloucester Place review

A double bedroom at Z Hotels Gloucester Place

A hotel in west London need not be out of reach thanks to Z Hotels at Gloucester Place, whose designer postcode is not accompanied by a designer pricetag

Z Hotels at Gloucester Place is an unusual hotel – or should that be hotels? Although it has one common reception, it comprises five individual townhouses, two of them several doors apart from the others, so each is self-contained. Inside, it combines the sharp, stylish interiors of an urban hotel with the welcoming atmosphere of a home. In fact, it is like going to a very smart house where you don’t know the host or guests, and where they greet you daily with complimentary cheese and wine. Another difference is the starting price – £85 a night is a knockdown bargain for this area of central London. Rooms are compact but come with free WiFi, 48-inch TV (free sport channels included) and modern bathroom. Despite the low price, this is anything but a budget hotel, as the savvy business and media clientele shows. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.
