After eight years of sharp suits, promiscuity and making older directors pine for the days of cigarettes and whisky at their desks, Mad Men begins its final bow on Sky Atlantic at 10pm tonight

Previews for part II of the seventh season are enigmatic as ever, but Diana Ross’s Love Hangover implies it will jump forwards to 1976.

Pete’s hairline has receded dramatically, Betty puffs vacantly on her cigarettes, and Don is still suave and stoic – but will he finally find redemption?
