Last month, Google shook up its search algorithms to favour sites that are easily read on smartphones. Websites with small text or hyperlinks too close together, risk being demoted.
Fortunately the tech giant has provided a mobile-friendly test page to analyse your site’s usability. The EU and BBC homepages were among those that failed the test. We don’t like to blow our own trumpet, but when we tested the new-look director.co.uk site, Google branded us “awesome”. High-fives all round!
