Stumped for somewhere fabulous to host your office Christmas party this year? Or perhaps you want to treat your children to a magical experience without having to face heaving crowds, overpriced ‘attractions’, or dodgy recreations of Arendelle? The IoD’s central London premises, which has been given a sparkling makeover, will be offering a taste of glamour for members seeking a special Christmas experience. Here, we take a look at what’s on offer…

Champagne dinner

On 3 December the IoD is holding a festive dinner at 116 Pall Mall to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Thiénot champagne. Hosted by Nick Wolridge, sales manager of Champagnes & Chateaux – an independent wine shipper owned by the family of Alain Thiénot – it’s a chance to learn more about the delicious vintages in the impressive surroundings of our restaurant. Guests will enjoy a four-course dinner, which will be specially prepared by IoD executive head chef Roger Evans. Each course will be paired with a different champagne and the menu includes fillet of plaice with saffron mousse, roasted duck breast with cabbage and lardons, and raspberry mousse with home-baked tuile. Tickets cost £71 (plus VAT).

The IoD’s Glamour Party

On 16 December join the Choir of St George’s, Hanover Square and sing along to carols in the Grade I-listed 116 Pall Mall. Guests can enjoy a three-course dinner with wine (plus mulled wine reception), followed by the choir singing a selection of Christmas favourites. The event runs from 7pm-9.30pm and tickets cost £60 (plus VAT) per person. Tables of eight or 10 can also be booked.

Children’s Christmas Extravaganza

Want to take your children to see Father Christmas during December, but can’t bear the thought of crowds and queues? On the afternoon of 21 December the IoD is welcoming members and their families to 116 Pall Mall for a very special festive experience. Youngsters will have a chance to take part in seasonal fun activities with a few surprises (suitable for children aged three to 12), and visit Santa in his grotto. Family tickets cost from £69 (including VAT) for one adult and three children.

Flavours of Christmas

Turkey, mince pies, mulled wine… if you can’t wait until Christmas Day to enjoy some delicious festive food, why not check out what’s on offer at the IoD?
A Christmas menu will be available in the restaurant at 116 Pall Mall from 30 November. The menu includes mouth-watering dishes such as roast Norfolk turkey and goose fat-roasted potatoes, roulade of pheasant with pistachio mousse, and fillet of English beef with venison croquettes and celeriac cream. Desserts include traditional Christmas pudding with brandy cream and passion fruit, and white-chocolate cheesecake.

Mulled wine and mince pies will also be available to order in all areas of 116 from the first week of December. And there will be special Christmas menus in the wine bar and Café Duke.

Private parties

Planning a Christmas event? Why not treat staff or clients to a glamorous festive bash – with a party at 116 Pall Mall? There are seven magnificent function rooms available to hire with capacity for 10 to 400 people. Alternatively for a weekend event, you can have exclusive use of the whole building, a rarity in central London. Your package will include venue hire, sparkling wine on arrival, dinner, house wine and beer throughout the evening, a DJ and disco, and staffed cloakroom.
