What’s your approach to problem solving? A combination of a structured methodology and creativity with colleagues.

What inspires you? One person who inspired me a great deal recently was a guy by the name of Mark Pollock (a Northern Irish adventurer, athlete, rower, author and international motivational speaker who, when already blind, was paralysed after a fall from a second-floor window). All that needs to be said about him is… check out his story.

How do you feel about networking? I think networking needs to be managed – it can get out of hand!

What are your plans for 2016? I intend to continue to raise the bar when it comes to both aspiration and delivery.

Who is your hero? A guy by the name of Ray Davey, a church minister who inspired the first Centre of Reconciliation in Northern Ireland. In my working life, I’ve been lucky to work for, and with, a terrific range of great people.

What’s been the most challenging moment in your business life? I’ve had a few challenges with sectarianism, but hopefully these are well behind us. The support of your colleagues is the key.
