In the heart of London’s Knightsbridge you will find The Franklin hotel. Acquired by Italian group Starhotels and designed by Anouska Hempel, The Franklin reopened in August 2016, two years after closing for a total renovation. Hempel, one of Architectural Digest’s top 100 world designers and architects, takes inspiration from her travels.
Her moody grey interiors are elegantly opulent, filled with bespoke furniture, gorgeous Italian grey velvets and silk ikat hangings from Istanbul.
All 35 bedrooms and suites contain elegant wrought-iron four-poster beds, oak floors, mirrored furniture lined with shagreen, Penhaligon’s products, thick, fluffy towels and 400-threadcount Frette bed linen.
