Mourne Seafood Bar, 34-36 Bank Street, Belfast
Tasty local hauls abound in the Mourne Seafood Bar on Bank Street, but oyster lovers should scoot around to the Castle Street entrance where you can find the Mourne Oyster Bar. The restaurant farms its own shellfish and serves them with mignonette dressing, tobacco and lemon – or Japanese style with shredded cucumber, pickled ginger and spiced soy dressing. Take a table by the window at this wooden surfside shack overlooking Chesil Beach and you might just spot your lunch leaving the water. Founded in 1935, Rogano is Glasgow's oldest surviving restaurant – and celebrates the fact with fun Art Deco fittings. But seafood lovers will be more interested in its dedication to the local catch.
