On a mild and sunny September day in London the great and the good from organisations across the UK gathered to celebrate this year's IoD Director of the Year Awards UK Final
Executives from all types of business – large to small, public to private sector – mingled under one roof because they held one thing in common: all had shown great leadership in exceptionally tough economic times and managed to motivate their teams to go the extra mile despite the challenges.
From demonstrating profitable growth and scalability, to excellent people management, customer engagement, sustainability and best practice, finalists had proved that they were the best. It was a pleasure to celebrate their achievements. There was a real buzz in the Lancaster London Hotel that day and for good reason.
