The 2010 American Express/CFO Research Global Business & Spending Monitor suggests purse strings for travel expenses are being loosened. More than half (57 per cent) of finance directors say they will raise business travel spending compared to last year, and 27 per cent aim to relax travel policies, allowing more opportunity to meet new clients. Only 34 per cent will restrict travel for staff meetings or internal business compared to 81 per cent in 2009.
