Low-cost carrier Germanwings is profiting from its Happy Meal pricing, which bundles charges into discount packages. Until now budget airlines have used the model pioneered by Southwest Airlines, unbundling costs and charging for check-in, baggage and food and drink. For a flat rate of €12 (£10.20), Germanwings includes check-in, priority boarding, a sandwich and drink on board and one bag in the hold. Move over Ryanair.
