VisitBritain and Virgin Atlantic have joined forces to tempt more American tourists to take holidays in the UK. The campaign Get More Britain For Your Buck shows how to make the most of a break here. The US remains the most important source of visitors to the UK, accounting for £2.2bn of the £114bn visitor economy, but over the past five years transatlantic visits have fallen by 11.5 per cent due to the falling dollar and the global downturn.
